Niels Bohr Institute spinout (founded 2016) designing and producing photonic quantum chips — on-chip deterministic single-photon sources that emit long, reliable streams of single photons for quantum computing and communication.
Sparrow Quantum, a spinout from Professor Peter Lodahl's quantum-optics group at the Niels Bohr Institute (founded 2016, based in Copenhagen/Frederiksberg), designs and produces photonic quantum chips. Its flagship Sparrow Core is an on-chip deterministic single-photon source that delivers long streams of single photons on demand — a key building block for scaling photonic quantum computing, quantum communication and future quantum-internet infrastructure. The company has raised tens of millions of euros to industrialise its single-photon source technology, building on more than two decades of NBI research.
