US RF semiconductor company (merger of RFMD + TriQuint, 2015). Danish design centre (est. 2000, ex-RFMD Pandrup) develops high-efficiency RF power amplifiers for 5G/6G handsets in GaAs and GaN.
Qorvo's Danish design centre in Nørresundby (Aalborg area) originated as an RF Micro Devices (RFMD) facility established in 2000 near Pandrup, tapping into Aalborg University's strong RF engineering talent pool. Now part of Qorvo (formed 2015 from the RFMD/TriQuint merger, ~$4B revenue, 8000+ employees globally), the Advanced Development team focuses on high-efficiency integrated RF power amplifiers for 5G and 6G mobile handsets. The group works with GaAs and GaN process technologies across Qorvo's own fabs. Qorvo is the world's second-largest RF chip supplier.
