Oticon (Demant group) operates Denmark's largest hearing aid ASIC team with 100+ chip engineers in Smørum. The Polaris platform comprises 3 custom chips totalling 154 million transistors on TSMC 28nm LP (migrated from 65nm). The team pioneered the first on-chip deep neural network in a hearing aid (Oticon More, 2021). They use Synopsys IC Compiler for physical design and have maintained a TSMC partnership since 2005. The chip platform handles audio processing, Bluetooth, sensor fusion, and user intent detection.
