GN Hearing's IC department in Ballerup designs full-custom hearing aid ASICs integrating DSP, Bluetooth LE Audio radio, DNN accelerators for noise reduction, and Near-Field Magnetic Induction (NFMI) radio for ear-to-ear communication. The latest ReSound 360 platform includes a main DSP chip and a dedicated DNN inference chip. The team uses Synopsys and Cadence EDA tools with MATLAB/Simulink for algorithm development, targeting TSMC process nodes. Approximately 80 engineers work in chip R&D out of 462 at the Ballerup site.
